The PBC Wellbeing team are excited to announce the launch of an initiative aimed at supporting families facing financial/situational challenges. The team acknowledges that the rising costs of living being experienced are leading to significant impacts for families and communities. As well as this, there are situations beyond control such as grief/loss, change in the family, job related stress, health and wellbeing, etc.

Research indicates that access to nutritious meals enhances students’ health, concentration, and overall academic performance. We encourage families to utilise the food program to ensure their children are in the best position to learn and grow at school. Please contact the wellbeing team to access the food program initiative and any other identified supports required. The food program will be run from B block wellbeing hub (upstairs).

Starting again this term, the school wellbeing team food initiative will provide:

· Breakfast and lunch for students experiencing challenges/barriers: Recognising the importance of proper nutrition for academic success, we will offer breakfast (toast, cereal, fruit, and juice) to students impacted by situational circumstances. Lunches will be made available to students that will include toasted sandwiches, noodle cups, fruit, fruit/muesli bars, and healthy frozen prepared meals. (Meals will vary at times).

· Freshly cooked snap frozen meals:

These nutritious meals are designed to offer convenient and heathy dinner options for families when needed. Meal types will vary throughout the year. These are prepared in the school’s commercial kitchen with qualified staff overseeing senior hospitality students.
