PBC has been an Independent Public School since 2013 affording the local community more input into school directing and decision making. As an IPS school the school council was established. The purpose of the school council is to provide strategic advice to the Executive Principal including approving the strategic planning.

Under this initiative, the school council must consist of elected parents, staff and student members. The Principal and P&C President are official members of the council. The council may also appoint a maximum of two industry/community members that have knowledge and experience that assist the council to perform its functions and reflect the local community context.

School Council Elections

As an Independent Public School our School Council plays an integral role in the governance of our school. It is important that every parent understands the work the council will undertake in this year as it will have significant impact on the strategic direction of our school.

The School Council is responsible for providing strategic advice to the Executive Principal and overseeing the governance of the school. Training is provided to new members.

If you are interested in being involved in this work, I encourage you to nominate for the School Council when nominations open early in the year. Those staff members who are not interested in joining the council are encouraged to have their say in who represents them by voting in the school council elections.

Nominations

Once nominations for parent, teaching and non-teaching staff positions for the Palm Beach Currumbin State High School Council are open, this page will be updated with the relevant information including closing date.

The nomination form can be found on this page.
* Please download the form before completing it.

* Nominees cannot nominate for more than one elected position.
Example – teaching staff who are parents can nominate for either staff or parent elected position, but not both.
