2026 GCSS Cluster Day Sport - Activity Selection

Key Information:

·       It is a compulsory School Day

·       Sports Excellence Students must choose their SPX Sport (unless discussed with their SPX coach)

·       Home Study only available for Year 11 & 12

·       International students must choose a sport/activity – Home Study not an option

·       Invoices for payment will be sent out early in Term 1 and must be paid prior to the first Cluster Day​


🚫 Student Drop-Off: Please do not drop students off in the school bus zone at the front gate, as this area will be busy with bus movements. Instead, use the designated drop-off zone in the car park area alongside the school oval and Theatre.

📧 Event Details: Instructions were emailed to all students and parents for Round 1. Please check your emails for details.

📝 Consent Process: Consent is required through QParents. If you are experiencing issues, paper copies are available on the school website and must be returned to your teacher or coach. Students will not be permitted to leave the school without written consent from a parent or caregiver.

GCSS Cluster Day sport and activity selections for 2026 will be completed slightly differently next year.

 

Only sports/activities that require payment will need to be selected. This will be done via the Humanitix app, where selection and payment will occur. Therefore, students will need to make their sport/activity selection at home with a parent/guardian.

 

Below is a list of the sports and activities that require selection and payment. Please note that some sports/activities have a limit on the number of students who can participate, so early booking and payment will secure a place. 


Interschool Sport (Competitive)

(Year level = grade in 2026)

  • Basketball (Girls Yr 7, 8, 9, 10) – $75*

  • Basketball (Boys – all years) – $75*

  • Netball (Yr 7, 8, 9, 10) – $75*

  • Rugby League (Boys Yr 7 & 8) – $75*

  • Table Tennis (Yr 7, 8, 9, 10) – $75*

  • Soccer (Boys Yr 7, 8, 9, 10) – $75*

  • Soccer (Girls Yr 7, 8, 9, 10) – $75*

  • Touch (Girls Yr 7, 8, 9) – $75*

  • Touch (Boys Yr 7, 8, 9) – $75*

  • Mixed Touch (Yr 10, 11, 12) – $75*

  • Pickleball (All years) – $75*


Interschool Sport (Recreational)

(Year level = grade in 2026)

  • Esports – $40*

  • Ten-Pin Bowling – $120*

  • Mountain Biking – $40*

  • Skateboarding/Scootering – $40*

  • Surfing (Yr 7 & 8 only) – $40*


PBC Specialised Activities

(Year level = grade in 2026)

  • Fitness Gym (fitness class, swim plus 1 other fitness activity) – $75*

  • Arts & Crafts – $40*

  • Indoor Climbing – $120*

  • Golf – Pay at venue ($125)

  • Beach & Bush Walking – $40*

  • Mixed Martial Arts – $120*

  • Crocheting – $40*

  • Recreation Surfing (Yr 9 & 10 only) – $40*

*plus booking fee  *total price for 5 cluster days


Students – please note:

  • If you are a Year 7, 8, 9 or 10 (non-SPX) student and do not make a selection, you will be placed in School-Based Recreation.

  • If you are a Year 11/12 student and do not make a selection, you will be placed in Home Study.

  • If you are a Sports Excellence (SPX) student, you will be placed in your SPX group

    • Except: 2026 Yr 7*, 8*, 9* Boys Soccer and 2026 Yr 7* and 8* Girls Touch – these students will need to select INTERSCHOOL SOCCER or INTERSCHOOL TOUCH. *grade in 2026

·        If you are a Creative Arts Excellence student, you will be placed in either:

  • The Musical, or

  • CAX Visual ArtsIf neither of these options applies to you, please select another activity via the Humanitix App

Refunds / Change of Sport

  • There will be no option to change sports/activities once the activity has been selected and paid for.

  • In exceptional circumstances (listed below), where the student is unable to participate in their chosen sport/activity, the parent/carer can request a refund via the Humanitix app. This will be approved by the school. Once a refund has been processed, the student will be asked to select an alternative activity.

 

Exceptional circumstances include:

  • The student has moved into or out of a Sports Excellence class

  • The student has a medical certificate stating they are unable to continue in their chosen activity

  • The chosen sport/activity has been cancelled due to low numbers/team entries
