​Immunisatio​​ns​​​​​

​At PBC, both Year 7 and Year 10 students participate yearly in the School Immunisation Program (SIP). Vaccines offered annually to both year levels are:

Year 7 students:

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (whooping cough)

Year 10 students:

  • Meningococcal A, C, W and Y

​School Based Youth Health Nurses​

PBC has an ongoing partnership with Queensland Health to provide a weekly, confidential service, available to all students with two School Based Youth Health Nurse's (SBYHN's) onsite and available for booking. 

A team of SBYHN's deliver presentations on a termly basis to students Years 9-12 in relation to Healthy, Respectful Relationships and sexual consent.​​​

Their role at PBC is to support students and their families around issues such as:

  • Sexual Health
  • Relationships
  • Growth and Development
  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Contraception and STIs
  • Hygiene
  • Mental Health
  • Personal and Family Problems
  • ​Healthy Eating and Physical Activity
