Program Overview

Established in 1996 the PBC Sports Excellence Program is an elite training and coaching program developed for gifted and talented sporting students that empowers them to pursue their sporting dreams. Students with demonstrated ability in one of PBC's targeted sports are supported through mentoring, training and education from nationally accredited and industry experienced coaches.

Under the motto REDS – Rise Every Day Stronger the following are Sports Excellence values;

Growth Mindset / Effort

This successful and holistic program with over 700 students currently enrolled is modelled around the five pillars of Wellbeing, Fitness, Skills, Competition abilities and Mental skills.

Students undertake a minimum of three 70 minute lessons per week of instruction which involves a range of practical and theoretical aspects to improve physical performance, competition abilities and wellbeing. Sport specific coaches are supported by a school based physiotherapist, a full time Strength and Conditioning Manager, external specialist coaches and the school's welfare team. Each sport competes in elite school based state and national competitions to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their abilities.
