1:1 School-Managed MacBook Program – 2027
In 2027, students in Year 7 and Year 10 will be the first- and only-year levels to commence in the new 1:1 School-Managed MacBook Program. Parents initially contribute to the purchase cost of the MacBook via a participation fee that covers the cost of the MacBook. PBC SHS will then purchase the device for their students’ sole use. PBC SHS will retain ownership of the MacBook which allows the PBC SHS I.T Department to:
Install and maintain school owned software
Set Education focused restrictions
Provide technical support
Submit Warranty and AppleCare+ claims

$79* for screen or enclosure accidental damage
$249* for other accidental damage (e.g. liquid damage, broken ports)
Lost or Stolen Device – Full replacement cost. AppleCare+ does not cover for lost or stolen devices
*Repair fees will be charged to a student's school account. Parents/Guardians will receive an invoice via your preferred method as specified with Finance.
Participation Cost and MacBook Ownership
An upfront payment of $1,080.00 is required to participate in the 2027 1:1 School Managed MacBook Program. Ownership of the MacBook remains with PBC SHS for the duration of the student's enrolment. Upon the student's exit from PBC SHS, ownership of the device will be transferred to the family. Any remaining Warranty or AppleCare+ coverage will also be transferred, and all school-managed settings and restrictions will be removed.
