The health, safety and well-being of students and staff is of the highest priority at PBC. Our plan adheres to the Asbestos Management Plan for DETE Facilities and ensures that Asbestos is removed when areas are renovated and that a strict incident response procedure is followed should any Asbestos Containing Material be disturbed in the normal operation of the school.
Application for extension or change of date form (PDF, 187KB)
As per the Assessment Policy use this form to apply for an extension or change of date for assessment, prior to due date. Extension applications must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance, except in extenuating circumstances, and submited to Head of Department/Guidance Officer along with supporting documentation to validate the extension/provision.

This policy applies to all students and staff at PBC and is intended to provide clear and consistent guidelines about assessment. It aims to ensure the application of policies and procedures that are fair and equitable to all students from years 7 to 12.
Communications Device Policy (PDF, 261KB)
As part of preparing students for the future we believe that communication devices have a place in society, but should not deter from one’s learning. PBC is the workplace for more than 190 staff and 2500 students; as a result, we believe that the behaviours modelled in this workplace should reflect common practices in greater society, including expectations and conduct relating to the use of communication devices.

During the course of your student's school years, you may have cause to make a complaint about an issue with their education. Education Queensland is committed to ensuring that all complaints are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner. There are processes and support structures in place to enable parents and students to work through any issues they may have with Education Queensland provision.

At PBC, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students, staff and volunteers. This commitment includes the health and safety of staff and students when conducting curriculum activities in the school or in other locations.

PBC's strongly support and promote the belief that every person in our community has the right to feel safe. We aim to provide a warm and secure learning environment where students develop self esteem and confidence, and are caring, respectful and tolerant of others. No one should feel excluded, humiliated or powerless. PBC is committed to providing all staff and students with a working and learning environment free from all forms of harassment and bullying, including physical, verbal, social and sexual. All students, staff and parents are expected to support this commitment. This includes an expectation that all bystanders will intervene proactively to prevent harassment.

The PBC Senior School believes it is important that all policies are transparent so that teachers, parents and students can work together to maintain high expectations and promote student learning.

In view of the dangers of overexposure to the sun in Queensland, we have been proactive in developing and implementing a school sun safe policy that is practical, effective and enhances sun protection for students.
Uniform Policy (PDF, 238KB)
The P&C is strongly supportive of the wearing of full and correct school uniform and have requested the school to ensure that it is worn. PBC is a uniform school and all parents and students enrolling here are expected to accept this and wear the correct uniform. This is also part of our school security program.
