Windows 11 Upgrade for Student One2One Laptops by October 14
Microsoft and Education Queensland have set a firm deadline: All One2One student laptops must be upgraded to Windows 11 by 14 October. Any devices not upgraded by then will be locked out of the school network and all student data will be lost.
Why We Need Your Help
We initially understood that students could perform the upgrade themselves—unfortunately, that hasn’t been working for the majority.
Upgrade Requirements
To successfully upgrade, the following conditions must be met:
1. The laptop must be connected to the school network.
2. OneNote for Windows 10 must be uninstalled prior to the upgrade.
3. Ideally, the laptop should be plugged into power during the process.
School IT Support
If you’d like our IT department to perform the upgrade, students may drop off their laptops at the Library during school hours or in the afternoon. We will run the upgrade overnight and return the device fully charged and updated the next day.
Data Safeguard Notice
As a precaution, please ensure your child has backed up all work to OneDrive. If necessary, laptops may need to be re-imaged, and we want to make sure none of your student’s data is lost.
Thank you for acting promptly to help your child continue to access school resources without interruption.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
