RISE EVERY DAY STRONGER
Launched in 2007 with a dedicated group of twelve Year 8 students, the Touch Football Sport Excellence Program has grown to include approximately 25 Year 7–9 and 25 Year 10–12 students annually as part of the school curriculum. The program is dedicated to developing skilled athletes, fostering teamwork, and shaping well-rounded individuals both on and off the field.
Students participate in three specialised lessons each week, designed to enhance their physical and tactical abilities. These lessons include:
- Strength training in our state-of-the-art gym,
- Skill development on the oval, and
- Tactical knowledge in the classroom.
Our students consistently excel in prestigious events such as the Gold Coast and South Queensland Championships, interschool cluster competitions, and the All Schools State Championships. The program’s exceptional achievements in recent years highlight its success, with multiple teams claiming State Champion titles at the Queensland All Schools Competition. These include:
- 2024: Under 13’s Girls (State Champions)
- 2023: Under 13’s Girls (State Champions)
- 2022: Under 15’s Girls (State Champions)
Our alumni are a testament to the program’s excellence, including standout athletes like Abby King, who was selected for the Australian Under 20 Women’s Team in 2019. Several graduates have gone on to play in the Women’s NRL, including Tazmin Gray, Teagan Laing, Jess Elliston, Amber Pilley, and Tarryn Aiken.
