UN and parliament representation

Two of our year 12 students Jane Nguyen and Gabrielle Brough won a position in this year’s Queensland Youth Parliament, running during the September school holidays.

Youth parliaments provide the opportunity for school students to serve as "Youth Members" and gain an in-depth understanding of Queensland’s parliamentary processes.

Youth Parliament programs see students introduce and then debate a mock Bill or motion. When possible, the content of the Bill or motion will reflect topical issues of interest to Queensland students.

Another two students, Roslyn Dalton and Jasmin Moore spent  March 8 - 10 representing the school at the annual UNYA (United Nations Youth of Australia) Queensland Summit. Summit 2013 focused on issues surrounding our growing numbers. Things like globalization, climate change, food and resource crises and a changing international political structure.

We congratulate all of these young people as these are great achievements for these students.
