2013 NAPLAN Results

2013 PBC Year 9 NAPLAN report highlights positive results.

The 2013 NAPLAN summary report is now available from the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority website

Since testing began in 2008, Queensland is the most improved state with significant gains made in nine out of 20 areas over this time.

Please view one of the preliminary 2013 PBC SHS Year 9 NAPLAN Reports recently released to the school. This report provides an overview of our 2013 Year 9 cohorts’ performance in comparison to State and National  school standards. Our early analysis of these results indicate that our 2013 Year 9 cohort has performed exceptionally well across the five NAPLAN domains. In particular, the percentage of PBC students performing at or above the National Minimum Standards across the domains has been the area that has made the greatest improvements in comparison to previous years.

These great results can be attributed to the dedication of our teaching staff over an extended period of time and the focussed and effective study put in by our students. Over the next period of time our staff will go through the NAPLAN results in much greater detail to look closely at the areas where we can build on our performance.

Although NAPLAN results form a useful piece of information, they are not the be all and end all upon which to judge a school’s success.

It is important to remember the results represent a point-in-time testing over a few hours each May. The NAPLAN results are important but are just one of the many pieces of information our school uses to improve learning outcomes for our kids.
